The language of Karate instruction is Japanese therefore it is important to know the words and the techniques they refer to. This allows students to learn karate and its language across various countries. At times we have instructors from Japan and they will use the same comands and teaching methods as they do in Japan.

Kihon (Fundamental Techniques)

The objective of this section is to provide instructional information to the students of TWSK on various techniques and SKIF Kata and Kumite

Basic Shotokan Stances

Stances are the building blocks for correct practice of fundamental Karate techniques. These must be mastered in order to provide a strong foundation for the rest of karate training. The details shown in the document must be studied carefully.

• Zenkutsu Dachi - Forward leading stance

• Jiyu Ippon Kumite - Advanced one step-free sparring (promise kumite)
